Giving back is something we should all try to do as much as we can. I always find it necessary to give back during the holidays. In my eyes, everyone should experience holiday cheer, and certain circumstances shouldn't be stopping them.

1. The Boys & Girls Club of America

Last year, my family became involved by giving away christmas gifts to children. They provided the wish lists from 2-3 families and we brought all the gifts to our local Boys & Girls Club. It was extremely eye opening, how these kids only wanted a few things, one even mentioning that he just wanted a comforter.

2. ResQwalk

ResQwalk is an app that spreads awareness & support for animal welfare organizations, simply by walking. The longer you walk, the more is given. Sometimes corporations will parter up with the app so that money will be raised. OR, create your own pool of money by joining with friends!

3. Rock & Rawhide

Rock & Rawhide is a non profit organization aiming to increase the level of adoptions and quality of life for animals in shelters. They provide "distraction therapy and noise/stress reduction through the donations of toys, chew items, Kongs, Nylabones, bones, rawhides, blankets and more." To help, visit their website to find where your nearest dropbox is where you can donate these crucial items for animals in shelters. Another option is donating directly to the organization online.

4. Happy Hearts Fund

Happy Hearts Fund is an organization that rebuilds safe, resident schools in areas impacted by natural disasters. After all of the hurricanes we have faced in this past year, this cause is extremely needed right now.

5. Cards For Hospitalized Kids

If you're feeling crafty, take time to write a holiday card for a child in the hospital. 7. Community Servings

As a non profit nutrition program, they provide services throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island to individuals and families living with chronic illnesses.  They donate nutritious meals, that are then given to individuals through caregivers. If you live in the Boston area, you may want to look into volunteering at their location! There is also a donation option.

8. Fundraise for your Favorite Charity (one of mine being Philabundance

Many charities offer the option to create your own fundraiser through the organization. Gather your family and friends, and donate to a cause that connects with all of you. One charity that I personally volunteered at is Philabundance, they provide hunger relief for the greater Philadelphia area.
