A Southern Kind of Fall

You know I’m in the south when I’m wearing short sleeves and it’s mid October.

Recently, I’ve been very invested in searching for basics in my wardrobe. I feel like every other season I gather items that I like, but don’t actually wear often. These items that I wear most are the most comfortable, well-made items that last year after year.

What I invest most in is denim (usually my classic skinny jeans), outerwear, and boots, and for the rest I’ll try to find something more affordable.

Speaking of the rest of my wardrobe, I’ve been loving wool & felt hats for the fall season. I don’t think I’m at the point yet where I can justify spending a lot on a hat, because I simply don’t wear them enough. This hat from Nordstrom started a new obsession for cold weather hats. I love this one because it’s so flattering — and it doesn’t make my head look huge which is definitely one of my initial fears.
